I'm ready!

You are a soulful, heart-centered creator. You’re always seeking to create with more love, pleasure, and courage.

But the wounds of perfectionism, procrastination, fear, and/or self-doubt sometimes block you from fully honoring your creativity…

You are a divine creator, a lightworker, a healer, teacher, coach, soul-aligned business owner, visionary, artist.

You know you have powerful ideas that could really be of loving service to the people you are here to serve. The problem is, there seems to be a persistent gap between what you dream of creating, and what you allow yourself to create. It’s almost as if the perfect image in your head stops you from taking action, or has you starting new projects without finishing old ones, or bouncing from feeling SO confident in your ideas and work to second-guessing yourself.

Fear is a persistent guest of the creative process. It finds so many ways to show up.

When we procrastinate, we fear the work is bigger than our ability to face it.

When we are stuck in perfectionism, we’re afraid of not being good enough and the embarrassment of “trying” or being a beginner.

When we overly criticize other people’s work or embodiment, we’re afraid of confronting how much we envy people who fully show up for their artistic selves in ways we haven’t been allowed to or allowed ourselves to.

When we fear sharing our work even as we feel called to, we fear the rejection, judgment, or criticism of peers, family, and strangers on- and offline.

To make all this worse: most of us are creating in isolation — compounding our fears by alienating us from the creative peers, mentors, spirit guides, and community we desperately need and crave as members of a fundamentally social people.

Most of these fears are rooted in the social and cultural conditioning we have received since birth, as well as the many forms of supremacy, hierarchy, and inequality that shame so many of us out of being our fullest creative expressions.

Creativity is our birthright, and is critical to liberation of all kinds. Only by liberating the artist in each of us can we reimagine each and every layer of our shared earth experience, so that it can be rooted in love, healing, community, joy, pleasure, collective bliss and liberation.

Consciously or unconsciously — we are all creators. We create realities, relationships, norms, experiences, events, spaces, expectations, standards, boundaries, and indeed, art, ideas, solutions, organizations, businesses.

The Creative Fear MasterClass is an online course to help you connect to and through the fear that shows up in your creative life — which tends to show up in other areas as well.

My own creative process as a podcaster, writer, and video creator is full of fear — including what you are reading now. I wish there were more guidance and discussion on this topic. So I am doing as the creative so often does: harnessing my sensitivity to speak to the wound I have experienced — hoping what I have to say can help someone else feel a little more seen, supported, and held.

i'm ready to alchemize fear

Creative process? More like creative spiral 🥹

Welcome to the Creative Fear Masterclass!

This Masterclass is designed to help you transform your relationship with fear, resistance, and blocks in order to unlock deeper levels of creativity, self-love, and radical acceptance. The course will help you:

1. Deep Dive into and VALIDATE Creative Fear

Discover the societal roots of creative fear and learn from my personal journey. We’ll explore:

  • The various ways fear manifests (e.g., perfectionism, procrastination, self-doubt).

  • How to recognize your deepest fears and choose your response.

  • Techniques to accept fear as an integral, though challenging, part of your creative process.

2. Understand UNDERLYING Fears Through Shadow Work

Rather than rejecting fear, learn to connect with and understand it. We will dive into shadow work to uncover the roots of our fears and explore how they influence our creative processes.

3. ALCHEMIZE Fear into Aligned Action

Turn your fear into a powerful force for achieving your highest vision. Over the next 12 weeks, commit to a structured plan that promotes effective goal-setting and aligned action. This period has been proven to enhance goal attainment and personal growth.

By the end of this Masterclass, you will have a deep understanding of your fears, practical tools to manage them, and a clear path to alchemize fear into creative success.

say less, i'm in 😍

Other worlds are possible. To bring them into being, we need to liberate our deepest creativity and imaginations from the cages of shame, fear, perfectionism, self-doubt, creative isolation, and more.

More importantly, we have to upend all the toxic systems that ensure suffering, isolation, oppression, and climate catastrophe.

And what will we build instead? Only the creative voice within us can answer that question. We have to free it.

Creative Fear MasterClass

I will ground our fear in a wider context by holding space for the evolutionary, systemic, and social forces that shape our fears. I’ll share my own experiences with fear in my creative life, and provide journal exercises for you to begin to reflect on your own experiences of and with fear. Walk away with deeper recognition and validation towards your fears, understanding the societal and personal factors beneath them.

Validating fear

Identify the core fears that block your creative expression. Take the time and space to reflect on the underlying roots, and connect to the scenarios, emotions, and people you fear most in your creative life. Unpack the specific ways you react to fear, and the self-fulfilling cycles that manifest for you as a result. We’ll examine the internalized stories and external sources that keep you from creating.

Underlying fear

Develop a personalized plan for the next 12 weeks to turn your fear into a catalyst for creativity. Make at least one commitment to yourself creatively for this period, and define the specific ways you will honor your commitment. Reflect on moments where you HAVE faced and overcome fear. I will share the strategies and mindsets I use to face and overcome my creative fear. Learn to transform fear into action.

why not us?

why not you? 〰️ why not us? 〰️

fear underlies many of our inner demons

  • Procrastination = Fear of confronting a difficult, overwhelming, or tedious task

  • Creative Block = Fear of doing bad work (e.g., for writer’s block: it’s not that you can’t write, it’s that you won’t let yourself write “badly”)

  • Overwhelm = Fear of the daunting scope or complexity of the task and that we won’t be able to manage it. Fear of all the possibilities and the “FOMO” of having to decide

  • Perfectionism = Fear of not meeting our own or others' impossibly high standards. Fear of being unworthy if we show up imperfectly. Fear of ego injury or death (e.g., the part of me that believes I am good at things will suffer if I take this step…)

  • Avoidance = Fear of confronting ourselves through the work. Fear we won’t be good enough or that it will be too hard. Fear that confronting the work will only remind us of all the ways we’ve failed to show up

  • Self-Doubt = Fear of not being good/clever/talented/Beautiful/deserving enough to create

  • Imposter Syndrome = Fear of being exposed as a fraud, fear that we are essentially and fundamentally wrong or deficient, and it’s only a matter of time before we are found out

  • Comparison = Fear of not measuring up to peers, idols or industry standards. Fear that there is not enough room for all of us to shine. Fear that their shine is more shiny than yours, and what that says about you if it’s true

where you are vs. where we’ll go

From:

Stuck in shame and isolation, feeling something is “wrong” with you for being unable to start, finish, or share your work. Asking yourself questions like, what’s wrong with me, why do I never finish anything? Why can’t I just start this?

To:

Collectively holding space, holding your fear with love and attention rather than criticism and avoidance. Validating the social and systemic forces creating your fear. Learning from each other’s experiences, and realizing you are not alone.

From:

Avoiding addressing the root of your fears, and letting other people benefit from your desire to avoid facing fear at all costs (e.g., unsupportive “friends”, Big Tech companies whose platforms we may escape to when we feel uncomfortable)

To:

Giving yourself the space and safety to address the underlying roots of your fear and how fear shows up in your daily actions (e.g. minimizing your dreams, doomscrolling) and connect with alternative possibilities, behaviors, and beliefs

From:

Struggling to find practical strategies to combat fear. Waiting till the moment you no longer feel afraid to start your work, feeling the sense that you are not yet “ready”. Not knowing how to gain something generative from your fear.

To:

Learning how to alchemize fear into aligned action in service of your inner child and artist, VISION and dreams, and the collective who NEED your art and voice (if you do feel called to share it). Sharing strategies to create in the face of fear.

My name is Ayanda and I never saw myself as a creative person, until the label of being a TikTok “creator” unlocked a whole new identity for me. Since then, I’ve grown my TikTok to 320,000 followers, alchemized my dream of having a podcast into reality, and learned how to face and overcome the fear I face regularly in my creative process — including in this offering you are experiencing right now.

When I say I am terrified of being a TikTok creator when I feel at any moment I could be disposed of, ridiculed, cancelled, or somehow exposed, and terrified of speaking truth to power through my voice — yet completely called to do exactly that. I am proudly South African, and carry the ancestral wounding in my family of being persecuted, imprisoned, and brutalized for speaking against white power structures. My voice or throat chakra feels like my biggest calling and gift — and also my greatest fear and un-safety.

But in my journey, I’ve experienced such a powerful shift and transformation one that I feel so called to share with you: I’ve moved from avoiding my fear to connecting to and accepting it. It’s part of me, it’s linked to my sensitivity, it wants to keep me safe, and it connects to the deep love I want to manifest through me and my work.

Because I associate being liked with being worthy and safe, what I fear most as a creative are aspects of my work that may cause people to dislike me. I feel the fear. In so many flavors, textures, and colors. But I’ve learned to ask, if the fear is here, what is the love trying to say? I’ve learned to alchemize my fear into deeper layers of love, purpose, PLEASURE, and surrender. I can’t wait to help guide you in doing the same.

Container FAQ

  • Two guided meditations, a presentation on the most useful and surprising lessons I’ve learned about fear from study and experience, journaling exercises to reflect in-session and share, breakout groups (depending on how many people sign up) to go deeper in a more intimate space, a surprise collective creation experience (we will create a quick and powerful resource for all of us to use and refer back to, together), ending off with a commitment we will each make (to ourselves, in the chat etc.) for the next 12 weeks specifically. And: my endless love, gratitude, and adoration.

  • Abolutely not! You do not have to be earning money or creating online or desiring to do either to be a creative — the concept has been commodified and narrowed down by capitalist understandings of the artist. The idea of being a creator is deeply expansive, and we get to define what our fullest creative self looks like for ourselves.

  • The loving answer to that is no it will not. But it will help you hold fear with more love and wisdom, in community, and learn how to alchemize fear into action. Your fear can teach you so much, and can actually enhance the spiritual growth you can experience through creative expression. If you simply got rid of fear, you’d lose a lot with it (such as a core part of your humanity).

Our fear is evolutionarily designed to keep us safe, protecting us from danger and uncertainty. It is an unavoidable part of our lives, and therefore, our creative process. The question is, what can you learn to do with it that you’ve rarely been invited into before? This MasterClass aims to be (the beginning of) an answer.

  • I am sending you love, and want to note that this MasterClass is not a substitute for professional psychological support. If you are experiencing deep challenges, it is crucial to seek assistance from a licensed mental health professional. Please prioritize your mental well-being and consult a healthcare provider for guidance tailored to your specific needs if needed. If you feel this work might re-traumatize you in any way, since we’ll be discussing how fear shows up and what causes it, please protect yourself and I hope future experiences will be able to support you.

  • No. I am a multi-passionate creator: video is my main platform, but I also write, LOVE graphic design, and play with dance, singing, and fashion. Importantly, I view relationships as CRITICAL and core creative spaces of our lives — we are always deciding how to relate to each other and ourselves (often in ways outside our control). Our creativity can be limitless, and the spiritual lessons transcend the mediums of creation.

Just as popular books on creativity have supported millions of people without being limited to one specific creative medium, there are deeply common threads through the creative process of all crafts.

But if you are looking for specific creative advice or feedback on your craft itself, and how to overcome how fear specifically shows up in that medium, this may not be a supportive or generative space for you. Trust your intuition on whether you think this experience will support your journey.

  • Unfortunatey, all scholarships available for this program have been awarded to over 40 people at no cost. There are, however, payment plans available.

  • There are no refunds available. Please see my Terms & Conditions to learn more.
